I get the feeling that Bob really gets great enjoyment from her leaf organising. She is by far the most take charge mouse for organising the home.

Girl mice putting away fresh leaves
The girls are being very cooperative in this video putting away fresh leaves. The mother mouse gave me a hint the night before by taking the old leaves out of the house for a spring clean. I figured they would be happy with some fresh ones. And I was right. :-)

my first two hopping mice
These are my first two hopping mice. The one with the short tail is the female and the one with a long tail is the male. I was told by the pet shop that they were both male, so I named the female Bob and the male Terry. They subsequently had one baby mouse, and then a litter of four before I separated the girls from the boys. One day I'll probably set these two up on another date though. Ah, young love.

This blog is mostly about keeping people up to date with the antics of my hopping mice. Hopefully I will be able to contribute knowledge of hopping mouse care to the ‘hopping mouse community’ however small that might be. Though I’ve owned my mice for several months now, I’m still learning about them. Even if you just like the look of the little dudes there should be some interesting anecdotes about their behaviour and even some videos, so stay tuned.
I also hold membership with Zoos SA. The Adelaide Zoo is undergoing a big revamp at the moment and is readying itself for the introduction of two Giant pandas Wang Wang and Funi. If you’re in Adelaide you’ll hear all about it. If not, keep up with my zoo visits on the blog and bookmark the Zoos SA website at http://www.zoossa.com.au/home.
I am also interested in health, stress and pain management, including meditation techniques and reflexology. Just a little bit of a bonus that might appear from time to time.
